Local knowledge is the campaign skill.

Every block has somebody whose opinion travels farther than a yard sign. Renters can prefer your candidate and still stay home. A drainage appropriation can exist on paper while Monterey Street floods.

Winning depends on how a neighborhood moves: influence, turnout, favors, and the rooms where decisions happen before voting starts.

Petition challenges, finance deadlines, turnout math, mail ballots, and the arithmetic of who owes whom become systems instead of local-color wallpaper.

WHAT THE PLAYER ACTUALLY DECIDES

The world supplies the mechanics.

The specificity is structural: it changes what the player can do, what each choice costs, and what the ending remembers.

01

Spend three moves

Block-walk, call for money, write a streets plan, hold a session, or lose a day to bookkeeping.

02

Go looking

A records dig surfaces one buried truth per cycle. What you find is useful and dangerous.

03

Answer the back room

Push polls and fake neighbors work. They also raise heat, and heat is how a reporter finds you.

The district is six blocs. Nobody is neutral.

Westside familias, parish associations, renters, union households, small business, and veterans begin with different size, support, and turnout.

Election night counts what you did. If nobody clears fifty percent there are four more weeks, and the candidate you beat into third suddenly has something you need.

Why it belongs here.

This game demonstrates the studio’s central claim: a real place, practice, community, or text contains better game mechanics than a broad theme pasted on later.

For commissioned work, the game goes with the client.Studio originals remain ours. A commissioned client receives the whole commissioned game and a practical source handoff under the agreement. We keep pre-existing tools and generalized craft; confidential material and distinct client expression stay with the client. READ THE OWNERSHIP FAQ ↗
